The Kitchen Product Innovation of the Year Award is given out to specific products that have been developed to actively move forward the field of product innovation within the kitchen sector.

The rules

  • Products must have been launched in the 12 months up to November 22nd 2018.
  • Only ONE product per brand is allowed.
  • ‘Products’ can be literally that or a piece of technology that is applied across a collection of products.
  • The products must be commercially available.

The criteria

The judges score each product against these criteria. Each carries an equal weight towards the final score.

  • Aesthetics
  • Saleability
  • Innovation
  • Material choice
  • Value for money
  • Detail

This means that judges are principally looking for how well it serves both the customer who will buy it and have it in their home, as well as the retailer who will give up valuable showroom space to sell it.

The judging process

And, for 2019, we’re judging it in a totally different way. The shortlists will be chosen by an expert panel of independent kitchen and bathroom retailers and the winner chosen from those shortlists by a survey distributed to all kbbreview retail readers.

The cost

It is completely FREE to enter the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards. In fact, unlike some other awards, if you’re shortlisted as a finalist you will get to come to the awards event for free too.

The closing date

The closing date is midday on November 22nd 2018. Please note, there will be NO extensions.
